In short, join social media networks online and submit your articles. I use digg and twitter as article distribution points. I focus on those two (2) sites first until i reached the maximum limit.
SEO is not that simple just sending your link to social bookmarking sites. there are many procedures before you can do link building.

very well said this was the 1st sentence came to me after reading the post and @earning-homes my dear who told you 1st step is add your website to mixx.I guarantee you that if you would concentrate on general SEO techniques apart from this submission you will get better result and no this is not the 1st step. 1st step is making your website so relevant and exclusive that when you submit to any of these search engines you will break the records and in fact if you created a unique website people on their own will bookmark your website so may be that struggle of your 1st step is also been reduced
the thread starter doesn't put any more details about the topic. Yes, s(he) started it in a simple way looool! by just bookmarking your posts in Mixx.com only... this person doesn't say that try to bookmark your posts with the help of social bookmarking sites, then do some on-page optimization, hijack or target high paying keywords, update your blog as often as you can, good ad placement and ad colors, bloghop to other blogs or even your fave blogs just don't spam on their comment form. ahha.
SEO is different and Social submitting is different, although social submit get back you some backlinks and targetted traffic but I don't think it should be considered as basic seo.
