This is the site: http://goo.gl/LrcjO It's a local site targeting white-collar professionals. I'm looking for a freelancer to give it a fresh look. You may download the HTML and CSS and change it on your local machine. Note that I'm using Sifr, but you may ignore it if you are not familiar. My preferences (but feel free to propose good ideas): - keep the general color theme. - keep the general layout, but you can widen the content area and move some sections around (try to keep movements minimal). - you can propose fonts, add div backgrounds, borders, etc. PM me your proposal and cost, and if possible a simple sketch of the new design. Thank you.
Might I suggest a dynamic size for the theme using percentages rather than fixed pixels, I happen to be doing a reformat on my desktop right now so I'm here on my netbook, and your site is the perfect width for a 10 inch screen, we usually make all our themes dynamically sized and checking for the viewers screen resolution etc to ensure it displays well on whatever is trying to display it, rather than just what most people have etc. I agree it really needs an update, make it look a little nicer and to conform to HD displays. To do this properly and on a small budget it shouldn't cost more than $75. I would recommend a new header as well, or at least a nice logo up there. I would suggest moving the google ads so they are not right at the top and potentially deterring people from reading the content. I like to put them out of the way just enough to make sure they are paying attention to the main content first. Hope that helps ya get through to a successful new look for you. Kind regards.
Thanks to all for responding. Clarification: I would like my visitors to still recognize it's my old website but with a refreshing modernized look. An analogy: it's like an old house getting a fresh coat of paint and a new modern gate or something. That's why I suggested making minor adjustments to the layouts, fonts, having some background images, some rounded rectangles, some shiny logos, buttons, etc. I do not wish to slap on a WP theme downloaded from somewhere - I would be able to do this myself. If you are keen, please PM me a brief description of your idea.
