I always see people selling just the psd design or contest for just the psd design. If you have the psd design, what is needed to get it coded and turned into a website

It depends on knowledge and how good HTML code you want to have. You definitely will need Photoshop to view/edit design. Some people use Photoshop to create HTML files (reconn.us/tutorial_01.html is the tutorial), others use Photoshop to slice the design and then write HTML/CSS code with Dreamweaver or other HTML editing tool.

    Hello, buddy .
There are generally two steps to finish a design .
First step is graphic design, that is designer design the psd/png with photoshop/fireworks.
The second step is coding, that is convert psd/png works to html/css with dreamweaver .
(That is the service I offer in my last sig link. lol)

You can use Photoshop to create your template then just slice them up and add codes to turn it into websites... If you are interested in building your own website Photoshop is another great way to achieve it...

not every slice is a picture. Some of them are pictures, some of them - backgrounds, and some are left as a text parts of website.

if a big zone has a solid color that is not gonna be an image, in that case css will do the design for us
