Simple question: What are the most common reasons for rejection?

What are the most common reasons for rejection by a particular advertiser? I can't seem to find where I can see the reasoning behind a rejection.

different advertisers have different criteria and I guess no none know for sure since I don't believe they are published but from my experience the two main things that can cause declined applications are your geographic location and past CJ earnings.

Many advertisers auto reject if you are not in the US as I am not and it happens all the time.
Always email the advertisers affiliate manager, quote your PID, and state your case. ie your site is US targeted with high traffic etc etc. 9 times out of ten they will accept you.

    good luck

I agree. When I was not earning much on CJ I hardly ever received any offers from the advertisers or I had hard time getting accepted. As the earning went up everything changed. But then the question is what about the newly joined publishers? No luck for them?

    Agree.

Just like adsense etc, you have to develop a great site first. Only them aply to best affiliates.

Just my little experience. Earnings means a lot more than a site. I couldnt get any of the big companies in finance to accept me until i had become a 4 bar advertiser, then they all accept, i am now accepted by everyone lol. Oh i forgot to mention, this is with no site!

    So in order:-

    Earnings
    Site
be in US (Im in UK and most accept just the ones who say US only i dont bother with)

What kind of income does a 5 bar income performance look like?

We've got a 4 bar income performance at around $12 7 day / 3month EPC... but that seems small compared to some of the numbers tossed around by people in this forum. Seems hard to believe that a $12 EPC puts us in the top 4 fifths of the herd... (Is that what the 4 bar means?)

I`m with CJ and I`m with several companies who operate in the US, so don`t automatically assume they will reject you if you aren`t in the US. (I`m in the UK, but some of my sites are geared mainly toward the US market). If, of course, your site is mainly for the UK market then there`s little point anyway in trying to promote a US company`s products, unless they ship internationally.

They are adding new advertisers almost on a daily basis, a lot of them from countries outside of the US. I`m with a few based in the UK, but they also have some in other European countries on their books.

The affiliate companies do look for site relevance to their product or service, so you need to be careful not to try to sign up with those having no connection with the content of your site(s).

I've found the biggest factor isn't really how great your site is but your earning history with the CJ network. I've tried joining several programs and been rejected - now that I'm making a lot more money (about 1K a month) and generating a lot of sales; programs that automatically rejected my application now automatically accept it.

Other issues include: past CJ earnings, geographic location, types of sites you list under the category, site type, and promotion methods.

If you're new to CJ you have to just start from the bottom and build earnings. If you have a quality site; write to affiliate managers and ask for a manual acceptance or exception to their criteria. You can keep applying for programs that have rejected you as well.

I've found that since my earnings have gone up substantially; I am getting offers from advertisers I'm not associated with and others are offering new commission terms that pay higher commissions than the standard that's offered. Has anyone else had the same experience?
