Hello, I am creating a helpdesk and I was curious to know if it was ok for clients to post their transaction ID for other staff members to see. Basically I am asking if there is no security risk for the client if their transaction ID may fall into the wrong hands. I do not think it will but wanted to be sure that knowing someones transaction ID cannot cause any problems. Thanks.
For when someone pays for a service and then sends the common email: "Um I bought something did I get it?" without providing any useful information. I then have to reply and ask how they paid for it and their transaction ID so I can look up their information.
One thing I have learned is to never say never. I can't think of anyway that a tranaction ID can be exploited, especially when it is a non-public post. I think you will be as secure as is possible. Based on my knowledge at this point I would have no problem providing you or your employees with a tranaction ID from my account.
Well, I don't see any way the Transaction ID can be used to be exploited. Of course as long as they do not provide passwords, it would be quite safe.
I don't see any problem with it either, but it may be a good idea to send a quick mail over to paypal just to be sure.
