simple question about email sending

I noticed that when ever i send an email
the first column in my email inbox(yahoo,hotmail or whichever) which usually represents who the email is from(the sender)
would display my email address
how can i make the text custom like lets say my name or sites name instead of my email address (sender email address)

any help with this would be wonderful

Change the From: header. (How you do that depends on how you're sending the email.)
