Which host are you using? Have you changed your domain name servers to point at your domain? (Note that you will only have to do this yourself if you bought the domain and hosting from separate companies.) If so, all you need is an FTP application. I use Filezilla. It's free and easy to use. All you have to do is:

    1. Download Filezilla
    2. Log in with your FTP username and password
    3. Upload your files to the root directory (usually public_html or www; both are the same)

I only bought a domain package...do I have to buy a hosting package for just for three lines of my own text!?

If i need a hosting package - I can just buy it from Domain seller right (they seem to sell hosting)?

Of course, you need hosting. You can't do anything with just a domain. It's simply the address of where your site is hosted.

I don't know anything about Domain Seller. I would recommend HostGator for hosting. It's not the cheapest but has served me well. No problems whatsoever.

What do you mean you're going to just host a few lines of text? Why don't you just start a free blog if that's the case? Or, are you planning on uploading a site soon?

Planning on launching a site in a few weeks...

Bought domain with Dotster...so once I buy a hosting package with them...I will be able to get to some sort of interface where I can write this message?

(Congrats on your 1000th Post btw)

Before you buy a hosting package from Dotster, you should look around. There are some great deals out there. In particular, find a decent package, then look for coupons that you can use to secure a discount. However, it just might be easier and cheaper for you to buy the package from Dotster, as they should give you the domain for free.

Once you get the hosting, all you have to do is construct the page that you want uploaded, then upload it using an FTP application. Some web hosts provide FTP utilities, but you should just download and use Filezilla or another free program, because they're usually more efficient and reliable - or at least they have been in my experience.

How's your coding? Can you write HTML? Will you be able to construct your pages?

If you are a complete newbie, I would suggest that you try the tutorials at www.w3schools.com. You should also check out the video tutorials on YouTube. There are thousands.

    Appreciated. :)
