Yes simple, but you can always advance and have a modern 3d type design based on the simple one.

Simple and elegant. The logo should look good in black and white also.

Simple, 2 colour logos are easy to reproduce in various format & are definitely more flexible. More graphical logos do seem to be coming into vogue at the moment though. As long as your logo isn't so awful that it gives a negative impression of your company you're probably ok with either.

I don't think there are any hard fast rules, look at Ebay and Google, they each use four colors. I prefer simple, but in the end it's the client who is paying.

I believe it is whatever your site is going for. If you are going for looks then you should go all out with a nice header. If it is a company who wants to make customers over viewers then you should make it simple but nice. Either way if you know what your doing people should like it.

Im a simple logo person too.
Much nicer to look at and it can create that 'lasting' effect.
Much esiaer to remember and associate the business with the logo too if its simple.

I usually like simple logos, but if its a graphic or games site, then I like to see something complex.

Simple logos are probably better because they're more versatile. They can go from web to print to even a rubber stamp without much work. With a more detailed logo there's quite a bit of tweaking needed to make it fit each application.

I prefer simple, but for online companies, or websites. Multicolor graphics are ok
