I am looking to take the files from 2005 - 2012 from this site: http://www.cathedraloflife.org/realLife_studies.html And place them neatly to be accessed on a password protected page on a new WP install. Also, On that same main page at the top I would like an upload form with fields for the name and date - that will allow an UPLOAD of each week's new file, that will then be automatically added to the list of available items, in its proper place. Can anyone assist?
Have you thought about using s2member? You can copy and paste your pages and add permissions using the plugin. If you are writing your articles you can drip feed them to with an autoposter. I use this type of setup on one of my websites.
Im going to take a look at that! I dont think it will do what I am wanting here - but It sounds like I can definitely use it. Thank you!
It will be very close to what you want. s2member is kind of hard to set up at first but there are a lot o features. You can even charge people to read articles.
This is an awesome plugin. The only thing is it cant append to posts with specific content that would come from the file upload form I mentioned above. Example: User has a file to upload and wants the title of the link in the post to be "Real Life Groups - March 26 - April 1". I need the upload form to have a field for the title and upload the file to the server and generate a link that is titled correctly and appears at the top of the list of links in that post. This will happen weekly.
If you are going to use Wordpress you can give posting abilities to your users and they can place the articles directly on your website. You can use s2member to protect the entire folder and when they post it will go in the protected area. There is also a way for people making posts to set the permissions from the posting area. That way you would not need a form. You can limit how high up the food chain they can go on your website and if somebody gives you trouble you can take away their rights.
Got you. For these ones we need them to remain HTML files, accessible by the year in protected posts. That plugin has some dope features though.
