SimpleGuideTool.com
Guide round Your friends around cool places (synchronized map with street view and video live chat)

Description
Simple guide tool is the place where you can browse (with your friends ) Google Maps and Google Street View while talking through video live chat at the same time (thanks to Tinychat.com service).

So using this website you can guide round others around different places that you know or you can just go on virtual trip with others in real time (maps are synchronized so each person that participate in the guide room will have the ability to see the same map view as the others, but each participant can also choose to navigate maps by himself - so other participants can follow his changes).

I have prepared short video to present features of this website, you can find it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRKESkxOeb4

Website info/features
- Free for users; no sign up required,
- Helps you provide directions for your friends,
- Synchronized map shows how the map moves as you go,
- Google Street View helps provide landmarks to help you provide better directions,
- Live video chat supported by TinyChat,

- The scripts are unique and made by me,
- The domain is 1 year and 4 month old,
- The website has PR: 3,
- Easy to remember and adequate to the purpose domain name: SimpleGuideTool.com

as the Michael Stern - the Tinychat (http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/25/tinychat-raises-1-5m-from-kutcher-diddy-and-others-is-just-getting-started/) co-founder said: (http://twitter.com/#!/mikestern/status/11568128190)
So for example if you have website, which is using Google Maps (e.g. real estate website, travel website, etc.) then you can incorporate SimpleGuideTool.com scripts into your website easily, so it can serve as a platform for virtual guides.

Another option is to start from current website state and consecutively extend with new features, like “Guide listing” (so people could easily find someone who can guide them around desired places) or “Best places to see listing”, “Guide recording feature with rating system” (so people could record their guides for later view), etc…

Technical details
This website is resource friendly (most of the work which the scripts behind the website are doing is on the client side: Google Maps, Google Street View and Tinychat integration is done in JavaScript, so only users map positions have to be send through the AJAX to the server for further maps view synchronization between users.

I would prefere not to disclose any numbers right now, but I can say I am thinking about finishing this auction within about one week from now.

If the site gets crowded, won't the daily limitation of google maps API stop the site from working properly?

RE to dylandash question:

Currently the website has low traffic rate (see attached statistics and the data traffic screenshots below), and as for now I haven’t incorporate any revenue strategy, but of course there is a room to improve – depending on how would you like to leverage the website potential (see "Use possibilities" section in the first post) and the attention it got up to now.

As for now the website almost don’t have content to be indexed by search engines, and all the attention it got was driven by casual reviews (see “Media citation” section in the first post), but for example if you decide to extend website with the mentioned “Guide listing” or “Best places to see listing”, etc., then it will have a chance to appear on the search engines too.

RE to Lordo question:

Operations on the Google Maps API are all made on the client side (in the browser), so there is no requests per IP per day bottleneck, which would be if the website would use server side Google Maps API requests – and it don’t.

In fact I was developing this website with scalability and resource friendliness in mind, so not only the Google Maps API usage is optimal in the way that it uses only the client side requests, but also the way how synchronization between users works make the requirements for server processing minimal (there isn’t almost any PHP processing until one of the users, participating in the guide room, make changes to the map), so it is possible to serve a lot users with a very small bandwidth on the server side (please see attached data traffic screenshots).

Hi,
I just want to let you all know that I would like to end tomorrow this auction.

Currently reserved price is $700 (I tried to set the BIN price, but it turned out that this is not possible, as the message appears: "You can not raise the Buy It Now price after there have been bids made." so I can only disclose the reserved price).
