Hi, I do not know what is going on with my Flash or maybe it's the way I did it but I remember this is what I have been doing all along without problem. Somehow, the simple fade effect just don't work! What I've done. 1. Select black for the text color and use the Text tool to type in "TEST" as the text while in Frame 1. 2. Go to Frame 50 and insert Key Frame. 3. Right-click on somewhere between Frame 1-50 and select Motion tween. 4. Click on the text box of "TEST" while in Frame 50 and set Alpha 0%. 5. I have tried dragging the timeline slider over from Frame 1 to Frame 50 and the fade effect seems to be fine. It looks like black text fading to transparent text. 6. However, I do not see the fade effect when I press Ctrl+Enter to play the animation. I have also tried converting the text to symbols before doing step 2 but it still don't work. Anyone know what's wrong? I am using Adobe Flash CS 3 Professional and the test file is attached along with this thread. As a way of appreciation for people who can help me resolve this problem, I will send $5 to your Paypal account. Thank you!
This is simply because your text field is set to dynamic in the properties panel, change it to static text field and your problem is solved ;-) Sent you my paypal ID via PM....
higreg7 is right.. But there is one more mistake have from quality prospective you should select the option " Anti-alias for Animation" instead of "Anti-alias for readability" thanks
Good point, but this is only necessary if the text actually moves. It is not necessary just for a fade effect, if the text doesn't actually move ;-)
Thanks. I've tested changing it to static and it works. $5 has been sent to your account higreg7. Please kindly check. Thanks to amirsalmani and others who pmed me too. This thread is now closed.
