Are all cmos batteries the same or will I have to make sure its compatible with my mobo?

 

I think so long as it fits you'd be good to go but maybe there's more to it than that?

How to replace the CMOS battery.

 

When you take it out it should have a number on it that you can use to get a replacement...

 

exactly, this is what is correct.

 

Best is take the battery out and take it with you when going to purchase.
Still i think all the batteries are the same.
