    Hi guys,

I was just wondering something and whether it would work, please let me know your thoughts:

I currently run a gambling portal website and recently it has starting doing 'ok' in SE's and getting a decent stream off traffic from google.

I want to set up another similar website and was thinking about using the same site layout, some of the content but optimizing it for different keywords. Obviously some of the content will change in order to target new keywords but i want to use some of the content from my original site including articles and actual page content.

Is this wise to do and will it work if i use the same seo techniques for different keywords?

Thanks in advance for any comments

    Alan :)

if you are not going to use same content, it's a good idea to use the same seo ways but if you mean the same content, it may be a problem:)

yes i am looking at using the same content in various sections of the website, such as articles, some review content and maybe a few other bits, is it better to change / re-write this content or duplicate it from the original site?

no i don't use any paid links...

    thanks for the comments :)

same content will not do... you have to make content as unique as you can to make search engine hungry..

To get the most out of your new site, use similar but not the same content imho. I don't think Google likes duplicate content all that much ;)

If you really want to create a new site in the same niche - do create new content for it. Having the same content will just put the new site at more of a disadvantage. Personally though I'd expand the old site, perhaps on a sub-domain, with new content in a niche close to the old one.

Use fresh content because content is king. If you want to your remaining keyword ranking in SERP's then develop your content with those keyphrases and you can also use Latent Semantic Analysis A technique for extracting and representing the similarity of meaning of words and passages.

yeah use some fresh content so that search engine will likely to indexed it.. duplicate content can make your first site get bad in the search engine.
