Silly Question ?

    Hi Everyone,

Consider me a sponge. I am in the beginning stages of research in starting a google Adsense business.

This maybe a silly question. If so, pardon my ignorance. :)

What is to keep me from hooking up with someone (say from this or other similar forums) and working privately with them ?

For example, being mindful of impressions of course, I could go and click someones ad for them. Then I find someone else who whose ad I could click (and of course they would click mine). This obviously couldn't be repeated over and over for obvious reasons, but it would make each of us a little cash ?

Could somebody comment on this ?

    Dawn :)

Well, I dont have time to explain so i'll put it short - it wouldnt work.

Besides, we are talking really small amounts, so ask yourself is it worth the risk of gettin a bunch of people banned.. :)

Maybe Google has systems in place to nail you the moment you even think about commiting such crimes...

You won't make much before you get caught and banned from Adsense. Not to mention that you would be stealing from other people (Adwords users).

If you want to get started off on the right foot with Adsense ditch any ideas that are unethical or against the TOS. The longterm benefits of an Adsense campaign implemented properly far outweigh the potential short term gains of an Adsense account setup with the intent to bend/break the rules.

    Good luck:)

The reason I ask is not because I am planning on being immoral or being a rulebreaker or anything. I saw an auction on ebay for a "club" that basically does something like this (Item number: 7551137974) and was curious as to how this was allowed.

It's not. Participants will eventually get caught and banned. People can be stupid and think they don't leave tracks when they are online...

It's definitely not allowed, but it's not like they're going to go and ask Google's permission before comitting the fraud anyhow... click fraud is a big problem for PPC programs, and you can bet that Google and the other companies spend a lot of time and effort fighting it.

Still, doesn't seem too smart to go advertising a "click fraud club" on eBay, it wouldn't take much programming to whip up an automated eBay search tool to look for suspicious new entries like that.

That auction should be reported to G. Even though I don't use AdWords, I do publish AdSense and I don't want my income affected by losers like this that steal from advertisers. The risk is that small publishers, like myself, could be shut out if this get's too bad.
