Silly question - I know there is an easy answer!

I have just created a quick blog on my site at:

http://waynerooneyonline.com/wordp

I have put 2 test articles on it, but I want to know how to just display a few lines of the article rather than the whole thing. I want the whole thing to be visible when the title is clicked on.

I just can't seem to work out how to do it.

thats surfaced another problem. I cant use the quicktags or anything else in my text or the article won't publish!

has anyone had this problem before?
