I am going to buy it on the 24th.

It is set in Scotland. And I live in Edinburgh.

I was near the end and gave up from being bored.

The whole game is about having to use stealth. Using guns, etc, affects the ending you can achieve. So having to run about like an idiot chucking bottles at walls is not fun. At all.

It does have that Silent Hill-esque vibe in terms of its atmospheric tone. But the game has nothing to do with the place called Silent Hill, where the franchise began. And while I am optimistic for the series' future, I think they got off track by doing these weird side story games. They generally don't feel connected to the lore, mythology, or whatever you can call it.

They took the series to other countries, such as Germany and Scotland. But Silent Hill is meant to be around where Maine is.

Was it worth the money, though?
You got a month's fun out of it.

I didn't enjoy it at all, to be honest. I had to take a lot of breaks. Mostly this was because I got lost in the coastal town. There was an opening next to a garden shed that takes you to a new area beyond that initial part and you can easily miss it. Never seen it the first time, so was constantly running around. Then there's a hospital section that drags. All puzzle / stealth based. Then you twice go to a labyrinth, situated in this otherworld. This is where it got to be too much, as this one hit kill enemy shows up. Then they put out a patch so it only stuns you now. But still.

In general, I liked the story. It had me engaged. The end result did not really pay off. I think a game where not being able to fight whatsoever, or if you do so, it changes the narrative, is not a good idea for gaming. Because these monsters can see you so easily. How are you supposed to not fight? They run at such a fast pace, and they are on nearly every street.

I don't know if maybe there's a limit to the number you can kill. Either way, I hate games where they prioritise stealth. There needs to be a balance. They should make it that you can fight, even if it is suggested you don't. It shouldn't be a case of walk, run, chuck some bottle to make it smash. That would get old fast.
