No. I did a search and also looked at my rankings from searches people used to come to my site. Not a lot of change as far as I can tell. Its just that the traffic just isnt there all of a sudden.
Ok. I just checked again. Looks like my search results rankings have fallen significantly. How and why would this happen? I have a high quality website that people love! Is this just a temporary hiccup by google that will fix itself or is it something I need to be really concerned with? Right now I get more traffic from yahoo than I do from google. Very odd. From 4-29-08 to 5-1-08 my google traffic dropped 75%.
Same for my site too from May 01. It has dropped more than 80% for me:-(. I checked the indexing stats in the webmaster tools. All the new pages on or after May 01 are also picked by google. MyPageRank.Net says my site is last accessed by googlebot on May01. I have no clue on what is happening and where to look for as this is the first time it has happened. It might be the ranking problem for me. Can somebody tell me how to check the rankings.
same happend for me on monday...take a look in my post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=824425 i hope they get it sorted...if not...i am really really sad 4 years 16 hours work is in that project...pffffff
More observations: 1) Pagerank is still the same in all the google datacenters. 2) Surprise Surprise. All these days my Google Back Links were 0. Now it is 42 as per MyPagerank.net. I have a doubt here. The linked pages are all higher PR than my site. Basically they are showing my blog's RSS feed in them. Is there a possibility of google assuming my site as duplicate site as the same content is found in other higher PR sites which are linked to me. ? 3) Keyword rank has significantly dropped. I searched for all the keywords listed in the "Top search queries" by google webmaster tool. All these keywords were showing my site within Top 10 results, but now my site is not listed within Top 150 results too.
to nr. 3, same for me, but the top search queries are imho monthly updated...so when this situation is static, we will see our drop soon enough *cry*
This happened to me last week. I'd been trying social bookmarking. You have to submit unique articles. If you submit articles on your site, you can drop to supplementals. Use a duplicate content checker to make sure no one has stolen your content or if you syndicate that someone who's picked up your content does not rate higher than you.
Latest update: From past 2 hours there seems to be slight increase in my traffic. I think google updated keywords ranking of my site. Now my site is listing at #1 position at least for my site name. It used to be the last one since May01. List of changes I made to my site. Not sure which one has really worked. 1) Continued to post messages as usual. 2) Removed a keyword which was repeated many times in a list. 3) Updated Zimbio not to pick my posts automatically. 4) Deleted a comment containing 6-7 links to the same site. This comment was posted just a day before my site went down in rankings i.e on May 01. I noticed this comment only today morning and deleted it immediately. Currently I see a 5-10% increase in traffic from the 80%-90% which I lost on May 01 onwards. I'm happy to see my site ranked #1 at least for my sites name.
