Significant increase in CPC

For the past week I've experienced an increase in earnings by 125% with pretty much the same impressions, clicks and ctr as the previous 3 months.

    Anyone experience the same thing?

I did filter some ads about a week ago, but it was only on 1 of my 3 sites.

I'm not complaining, but it's so significant I kinda think it's some sort of mistake on Google's part or a change in policy or somehow ending up with me being banned even though CPC is totally out of my control.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

You are just benefiting from an increase in competition between adwords advertisers. It can fluctuate a lot, depending on the level of competition. In some micro niches, just one new bidder can have a huge impact. In the highest competition kw's (think finance), the big boys have no problem doubling their bids to knock new competition out.

Enjoy the ride while you can.

Thanks a lot, I hope that's the case.

I'm pretty much preparing for cpc to drop back to where it was previously.

You don't have to give anything away, but are your sites tightly focused? I mean do they target a small niche? That's my guess. Very focused niche sites can really see huge swings in eCPM so easily. On sites that are spread out over numerous niches, or a very large and stable one, really don't see many swings, or at least not large and rapid ones.

Good luck to you by the way! I hope a million bidders enter into your market/ niche on the advertising end.

    :)
