Significant drop in adsense revenues

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by kumar, Jul 14, 2008.

This month I am experiencing significant low adsense revenues. approx. 200k to 300k page impression as per google and hardly couple of $s.

It is almost 1/3rd of previous months. Further I noticed many times competitors advertisement on the web site.

Is any one has similar experience or any suggestion for improvement.

    Thanks.

Traffics has also something to do on Google Adsense Earning; if you have a huge dropdown on traffics, expect that your earning will dropdown, too. But if you still have the same traffics (with just a few hundreds difference every week/month) and there is a dropdown on your adsense earning, there might some changes on google adsense algo.

I agree with what others have said - traffic, visitor interest and advertisers' budgets, plus other factors all can change your daily revenue from Google. Many of these things are beyond your control.

It does get my attention when there is a drop - I try to use these low revenue times as an incentive to create new websites or find alternate affiliates that I can add to my pages.

    Fluctuations are normal.

There will be good months and bad months, just like there are good days and bad days.

It could be seasonal as well, it's summer! maybe many people are not using the computer and enjoying the warm weather.

some of my sites are down, some are up, so they seem to balance out - since adsence money is about people clicking links on your site, then it should be random anyway ...

There is positive changes in traffic (not much) but there is no down side of traffic. Quality of visitors also has not been changed. But revenue is 1/3rd. There is change in eCPM advertisements also appearing same time more short of a branding types. Many time visitors on web site do not clicks on branding only type of advertisements.

When I first started my website, I was getting $1 per click for about 20 days straight. Used to average 5-6 clicks a day.

Now 3 months into it, I am averaging 50-70 clicks a day and only $0.30 per click. It's a usual thing with Google, once you start you earn big, and then it fluctuates.

Wait for a month. Your earnings will most likely recover.

Use the Adsense competitive ad filter to block any unwanted sites.

that could be it right there, are those branding ads appearing in adsense ad blocks that are enabled for image ads?

are you aware that adsense is now using doubleclick ads?

    are you running a forum?

can you turn off all adsense image ads easily, for instance, are you on a blog where the adsense ad code is in one location? i would try removing all image ads asap, see what happens... you have to alter the code on every page.
