Signatures related to backlinks?

Do signatures that are in a post have the same effect as backinks to the members website?

hey ive actually wanted to know some info on siglinks, and ive got a few questions as well (its related, so i figured why make a new thread)


1. what is a good amount of posts for an account to use with sig links? 1000? 5000? 10000?

2. if the account is inactive (not banned, just not active), is it worth putting your links in the sig? or because its not active will it not make much of an impact?

3. i know if you add a backlink on your sig, it will put it in every comment that poster has made (for most forums), is it worth doing that? technically, if you udpate a signature, every thread youve ever posted in (could be years old) has just gotten an update from your sig alteration, does that refresh it and make it more loved by google? or does it not have much of an impact? IE is it worth using an account that is inactive, or only high activity accounts?
