I have been browsing a few topics on this forum and like most of you am looking for ways to improve my organic ranking. On one post I noticed that some mentioned that their best way of getting links was to post comments on blogs.

    1. Can you create anchor text in your sig on when replying to a blog?

    2. What is the best way to comment on a blog to help your links?

    3. Do you blog you comment on need to relate at all to the topic of your site?

    Thanks all!

no there is no place for signatures in blog commenting. In order to build quality back links the blog post should be relating to your website, and your comment shouldn't look like a spam message which is mostly totally useless for everyone. Try posting on a couple of blogs, if your comments are approved you'll know which style is working out for you.

So if there is no secret verbage to use when commenting on blogs then how does commenting build you back links?

Sorry if I sound stupid, I am just wondering why everyone mentions that commenting on blogs has helped them with their page ranking.

In blog comments there is option of name , mail-id and url. So whatever name you will give that will be your anchor text.Second thing find the blog that is related to your website and do follow( relevant blog) and then post comment according to the topic mention in the blog and not about your webstie. And you will definately get backlinks.

    Your info has been great.

When you say "do follow" is that an option when you submit the comment, or is that something that the blogger sets up?

Most blogs have 'no follow" code on the comments by default. The blogger can make them do follow if they wish. No follow attribute significantly controls spam.

As regards your query that how come no follow links drive traffic I think it is because when we comment on blogs, especially popular ones, then people are likely to click on your link if you have commented. So that drives traffic to your site.

OK, this is the basics of blog commenting

There are many lists out there of blogs using the top commentators widget (just google: top commentator's list and you will find heaps). These are the blogs you should comment on, regularly enough that you make enough comments to become a "top commentator". Most of the time this will give you a dofollow sitewide link to your site from the site you are a top commentator on. You can have this link as your desired anchor text by putting what you want as the anchor text in the "name" field when you are making comments. Entering your website in the "website" field will automatically link your "name/anchor text" to your site.

    Hope that helps...

So going back to Simons comment.

I want to make regular posts on the same blogs, correct. Doing this is far more effective then from commenting on new blogs everyday. Correct?
