Signature tips for newbies

I'm seeing a few people on here with sigs like this:

    www.xyz.tld - Bob's World of Crap

If you want to SEO you signature link, you want the description of the site to be the text for the link, not just after the link:

    Bob's World of Crap

Otherwise, the only people who will know it's Bob's World of Crap are humans who read the actual sig. Google wouldn't know that.

yeah best way would be to put the name in the hyperlink like you have and then the url beside it if you want people to remember seeing the URL

    so like:

Bob's World of Crap - (site url)
where the name is linked like you have

After a site gets indexed through a forum signature, does the link still have to remain in the forum signature (in order to continue being indexed)?

Once you're indexed, you're in the system. But you want to keep the links to maintain good backlinks.

I personally am not gonna read everybody's links, but the search engines don't care.

I think they rate sig links a lot less than nomal links, not sure how they do this though.
