all posts are not counted as backlinks ... i've at least 700+ posts in different forums, but not all posts are found when i use backlink checker tool.
I suppose the more posts you have the more backlinks are created, so I am glad I have 12,000 posts. At least 6,000 have got to get used as backlinks right.
If the search engines can find those pages, yeah. Sometimes it may take a really long time for search engines to find year old posts.
be patient for almost 6 month or an year and check again, most probably you will get almost all of your backlinks visible.
i think google is easily counting forum links and thats good for posters we can easily get link back to our websites.
Well said. The search bots won't notice most of them, and they're getting better and better every day at spotting unnatural footprints. Signature links are useful for direct traffic; when you post something that strikes a chord with somebody, they might click into your site to find out more.
Signature sales are dead anyways now, a couple of months ago only DigitalPoint links we're wanted. Now I cannot even sell three links in my signature, I sould them quick a couple of months ago. No luck now. Is that market dying?
I've had some sites in my signatures at various forums for a few years now and have seen nothing but positive effects really. I do think the links from current postings or postings that stay current (bumped, commented on alot), will help your site to gain PR especially if your signature link keywords are relavant to the page/thread/topic/keyword density
I think that they really don't help with SEO. They have virtually no SEO value. They have such little value that unless you are targeting non-competitive keyphrases they won't help much at all. And even then if the phrase is uncompetitive directory submissions would work just as well. Narender Pal Singh
There is tremendous benefit to linking to your own pages or site. Internal and the anchor text used carries a great deal of weight with Google. 12,000 links to your own site is a tremendous opportunity, even from within your site. Give it a test. Link to your site through those sig links using a word or phrase that no one would search for and see what happens.
Signature links are always counted as back links. It may take a while for Google to catch up with all your posts. But when they do, each signature/post will be counted as a back link. Meti
Using the signature to promote every site you may have, makes it more or less to a "link farm" and in my opinion it's a kind of abusing. Even worse, if several links just points to different pages (parts) of the same site.... Narender Pal Singh
If you reached 10,000 posts before and then you put your signature after you have made 10,000 posts, backlinks will only count on the time you put your signature. Meaning if you have 10,050 posts for now, the counted backlinks are only 50.
A lot of forums especially in IM don't allow sig links anymore. Digital points is still generous to webmasters..
Okay I think I get it now guys, its just selling links now lol. I might just keep most of my signature links to promote websites I will be making in the near by future.
