yes, This is a good way to generate traffics. I can do 10 post in a days and we have to also gets a backlink our websites.
It all depends on your signature, the more specific it is, the better quality of your traffic. You should be able to get at least 3-5 visitors a day from digital point, it all depends on how many posts you do, and the quality of your posts (not just the quantity) and again it depends on your signature
Well, if you post comments in the suitable places, then I guess you will get quality visits to your site (through your signature). I got a few enquiries when I had an active signature. However, none of them lead to a sale. I am now renovating my website and would let you know if I get any precise figures when it's back online
If you link has something to do with the forum you are posting on then it can be a good way to get some traffic. And if the forum is a place you post on a lot then that means there are more chances people will see and click on your link. You may get some Google ranks from the link but I think the main appeal is that you have a link that people reading your post may click. PR is a plus. I have sites listed on forums I go to all the time, for me its organic I don't go there just to make sure my link is seeing but since I have a link to my site in my sig it gets seen when I post.
I agree. Not only will you be generating traffic to your site but you'll also be creating backlinks as well. Leaving a signature at the end of your posts is a win-win situation if you ask me. Of course it could also be considered spam to some but as long as you are replying to the topic at hand, I don't see anything wrong with it.
yes i do agree with all, putting your link on right place does mean for getting benefits and it should also related to post content then you can get better result for that as compare to general posting or replying to posts.
I've done decent on this site with the sig I have right now. In the past, I've gone on other sites and they had rules against links in sigs so I would post some of my tutorials on their sites and put a "source: my site link" at the end of the tutorial. Lil did they know, all the link in the tutorial also linked back to my site so I never got in trouble and got over 2,000 visitors a month from it.
Well you should always keep in mind what you are in a forum for. A forum is a place to help each other put heads together and find friends. If you keep your signature relevant and go to a forum for the right reason you'll find people will learn to respect you and you'll become someone they look to. Then your sig file will see results. Do a good job being a good person first the rest will follow.

Through signature you'll get baclinks and this will help you in getting high PR. Ofcourse you will get some what traffic also from the signature but it all depends on how much you are active on the site and the quality of answers you give. In my opinion 5-6 posts in a day is good enough.

Better creating backlinks with sigs, you get some clicks but you'll get more clicks from Google if you focus more on the SEO aspect of links then as mini advertisments.
well..i don't post here for links or traffic...but I do get some traffic as well. its not a perfect way to get traffic. you should focus on seo for long term results.
Forum posting can get decent "additional" traffic if your sig is relative to the forum. Notice the word ADDITIONAL, it's nothing to bank your business on.
Forum links are also good for SEO purposes. You can get a good number of backlinks and its a good way of helping other people.
I've seen sig links at DP get VERY HIGH SERP rankings for certain kw phrases, so it's definitely true.
