Google of course count the sig links, especially from active forums like DP.
I have viewed all the sig links in my google webmaster tools.

If its a do follow forum and is relevant to your site niche then it will not help with building backlinks but will also get a good amount of traffic to your site.

It helps with traffic too, just make your links stand out and appeal to people.

Google does put weight on signature links.

Yes, they are worthy. It doesn't just help your site increase its traffic (if your post is quite interesting and informative to other members) but also provide good backlinks.

I agree with fortify that the relevant links always get you a good traffic as well as sales. I've bought a lot of things by seeing the signature links.

Ive usually been complimented by folks who have rented my sigs, they have usually got traffic that they were looking for, plus ive had the same benefit when placing my own sites in the sig.

Signature links are good for direct "targeted" traffic. If your website is about cats then you better not put this link here in your signature. :D

One thing that no one has mentioned yet in this discussion is that the market price for signature links have fallen through the floor. I used to see prices around the mark of 100 posts = $1. These days I see signature links selling for half that amount, sometimes less. What happened to the market on DP?
