I'm sick of reading the rules, searching the threads over and over again to see different stuff from everybody.

The rules state that you can have 2 links in your signature as a member maximum. Still I see some members having 3 links (2 normal and 1 DigitalPoint link). Is this last one now good because it includes a link to a digitalpoint thread or not?

According to the rules it isn't, but according to some threads I read from all sides it isn't clear to me at all. So are 2 normal links and 1 DigitalPoint link allowed as a free member or not?

Thanks in advance to anybody of the crew or a member that knows for sure for answering this one ;)

If you want to get technical, any member (who qualifies for any sort of signature) can have up to 4 internal links in their signature. So a normal member can have 2 external and 4 internal. The only difference between premium members and normal in that regard is +2 external links allowed (so they could have a total of 8 vs. 6 for a normal member).

Internal links are recognized by using the [thread] and/or [post] BBCode tags.
