Signature Links of this Forum

  1. #1
    If I change out one of my signature links does it change all of my past signatures in my old posts?

    I just do not want to build 500+ links in one month for a new client!

    For instance I changed out

    Chicago Cadillac Dealers with Detroit (which is brand new) but I looked at an old post and it was indeed Detroit.....?

    I change my signature quite a lot and when i look back at older comments i see all of em changed.

    Yeah, if you change the signature, it changes in all your posts.

    It does change the older topics signature's but will take upto a day as the cron is ran after 24 hours to avoid server loads.

    yes it does change, however I noticed when I do that some of the older posts don't really get updated in google's index, I guess it doesn't update minute changes like that very often.

    Ok, that's interesting, because I've run a number of forums in the past, mainly SMF but with one VBulletin and I'm sure all of them didn't retrospectively update signatures.

    Yeah the signature is changed in the old posts and You can check by yourself by changing the signature and see the old posts.

    Definately changes older post links. Its a great way to get sites / pages found by search engines pretty quickly.

    O nice but till now mine edit signature is not active hope so it will be done soon so that i can add mine signature and then after 100 posts i will change signature and try it does it actually change mine signature from my all posts.
