Signature link

At the moment I have around 700 posts but I never put a link in my signature.
I think it will hurt my SERPS if I add a link now.
What do you think ?

 

It won't be added to all your previous posts because you didn't put it while posting, and you can't edit your previous posts. Signature can help bots crawl your website, as bots are usually crawling this site.

Too many low quality links will hurt your seo efforts. I'm not 100% on what constitutes as "too many", but I'm pretty sure 700 will be in that category (although it would depend on how many high quality links you have - I'm guessing not many).

 

Once update the new signature ... it will not apply for all the post?..I think its apply for all

 

Don't add primary blog / web link in your signature. If you really and seriously gain your SERP just put your link in "trust" directory like DMOZ or Yahoo directory. Slow but sure and the results is more strong than "poor" link from comments or signature.

 

It does not matter, Google does not count links from this forum. Perhaps yahoo does.

 

Because these 100 links are coming from 1 domain, it wont matter much i think.

 

It should not hurt your serp, but if you add signature now it will be shown in all your 700 previous posts at a time.

Add your sig, it won't do much harm i wouldn't think.

 

but the link in signature is "nofollow", so google will not check it. that 's the same with comment in blog.

 

Are you sure it hurts your SEO efforts to have many low quality links? I have heard that it just doesn't count either for or against you

 

Pick any member at this forum that posts with a website in the signature. Take that website and put it into a Google search like this link: link: http"// website address here. This shows most of the back links Google picks up from crawling your site. You will see only see maybe a few links, if any, not the amount of posts they have.

 

No, it won't hurt your site. DP in the first place isn't a bad neighborhood, it's an authority forum/site. You can gain quality one-way links from putting sig links here. Make sure to use the proper anchor text.

 

Really? So he should put a link to his competitor's site there rather and let them take a penalty?

As far as I know the signature links are good.. There is no reason to be afraid that you will get a Ban or hurt your SEO

 

I think you should put your link in your signature

 

I just tried that (link: link: http://www.torbenrick.eu) and it says 222. Is that good or very good or ........ just ok ...... ?

 

Changing your signature block will affect - and change - all your previous posts that had a signature block. Those that never had one, will not get one all-of-a-sudden.
