I have only just started participating in this forum and thus have no experience with the power or effect of my sig links here... but I have participated for a while in some small business forums (probably the two top ranked forums if you google on this phrase) and also a writing forum. And I have to confess, somewhat sheepishly, that while I've tried to post good messages, be smart about sig link anchor text, etc., I see little to no effect. I guess obviously I'm doing something wrong... FYI I have several hundred posts in each forum, each with 2-3 sig links.... so maybe I'm just using terms that are too competitive?
I remember someone saying that they were removed from adsense because of links in their sig. he said that google said it was revenue sharing or something. maybe im remembering it wrong.
A surge of backlinks from one domain shouldn't be too much of an issue, and you should get lots of clickthrough traffic too. Hope it works well for you
Sure, have no doubts about it. Good for traffic, linkpopularity and PR. I should not worry to much about spam, as long as you keep it nice with posting. Jason
Yes I am sure signature links are great. If you have 5k posts in the forum and it's do-follow, I am sure your site will get at least a pr3 in the updates.
its good for targeted traffic. you show your links to members of a forum, all of whom are probably interested in the same niches.
it's an easy way to get numerous backlinks. almost too easy. i worry that google in the future may disregard multiple links from the same domain, or at least limit it. am i right in thinking that a member here with 2000 posts will have 2000 valid backlinks (assuming the link's in the sig)?
