I have never gotten a site into DMOZ this fast, whats even weirder is the fact that I did not submit my site to them. Today I was going through my logs to see how well the site is growing and I see a few referrals from DMOZ, sure enough I follow the link and boom there it is. A link to my new iphone related site right smack dab towards the top of the page on DMOZ. I am getting a good felling about this site and this just made it even better
SHUT...I have been trying to get to DMOZ for a year and nothing. Congrats man, you should have a good feeling about this. It's a sign or success...
Thats the joys of putting together a complete site Congrats on your iphone site listing. You used the submission system?
Nope.... They just added my site. I never submitted it. Then today I saw I had some visitors coming from the page that I am listed on, thats how I knew.
This not weird at all. The DMOZ editors' role is not just to deal with submissions but to seek out new websites for their categories. In practice this seldom happens in anything other than niche categories or where you have a really enthusiastic editor.
There's nothing unusual about a site being added without having been suggested from an outside source, and it isn't cause for questioning the eidtors longevity. Happens all the time. They are there to add sites. Congrats on the listing.
