The traffic that really convert is the one coming from SE. Don't worry about something that do not work out. Article directory submission is just one of the options around and basically what's best that you can do is to continue adding more contents to your site. And these contents are the one attracting organic traffic.
Hi, i also use audio, it is easy and gets the relationship with the site visitor going, just as video does, dave
I guess what kind of promotion you should or should not do depends largely (and not only though) on the niche you're serving... If you could tell us that, you'd see some more feasible ideas pouring in...
have you tried some of the content wrangling tools, you can create unique articles for example I could probably create 15 articles in the same time it takes me to manually write 1. as you say article stuff is working you just need a way of creating content quicker!
You could also do something like revenue share with editors to create content for you for a chunk of change. It doesn't have to be a lot of money to get writers who want to write for higher profile sites. -Ben
You said your PPC efforts have had negative ROI, maybe you just need to execute better tests? There are at least 10 things you can optimize in your PPC campaign to make it work optimally. Check out this article: http://comefortheride.com/2008/08/5-pay-per-click-tests/
Write quality articles.. but not for the article directories... Instead... put the articles in your own blog/site and follow some tips to make sure all your site pages are well indexed in Google. Then, you'll get a decent (or massive) traffic from the search engines... this traffic is more targetted and you keep on getting the traffic for lifetime.
Can you give examples of "content wrangling tools"? I have tried stuff like jetspinner but it is more work than it is worth.
What kind of coding do you use with RSS feeds? Is there no duplicate content penalty with this? Maybe "penalty" is the wrong phrase, but I would be concerned the content would not get indexed well.
Don't know which bookmarking sites you've been using. They certainly have not been freeloaders in my case Maybe consider blogging. Drat! That involves you coming up with content as well
There are several ways to build lifetime traffic to your website, and article writing and submission to the various sites and directories is one of the top methods. However, I can understand how tedious it can be to keep writing and writing your own articles... that's why many of us prefer to use a service that does us all the work. I advise you to take a look at Article Undergroud ... other than getting 400 articles a month on your related niche, that are fresh unique and limited to a handful so as to avoid excessive double content, the site also offers automated website promotion via blog networks. I've written a review about it's features. PM me if interested as I also provide many bonuses including rewriters to make the articles even more unique....
