I've finally had enough of the amount of chargebacks and reversals via PayPal! I've had over $200 in the past 2 days alone and PayPal just seems to ignore any evidence I provide. Anyway, I've made the decision to move elsewhere. Does anyone else deliver digital products, who do you use? Can anyone advise on a PayPal alternative which provides the following: - No or little setup fee - Global credit cards/debit cards - Solution for digital products - No chargeback fee Thanks in advance, Red.
Recently I see some forum saying about paypay as alternative to paypal. May be you can try to search that.
Try http://www.plimus.com , http://www.regnow.com or http://www.shareit.com . They handle sharewares and thus can handle digital delivery. You still get chargebacks since that is done by the card holder and their bank and all payment processors are almost powerless against that. However, the good thing is that these processors have internal checks to minimize the risk of fraud.
I've had a look at moneybookers however it looks like you have to setup an account if you want to send money? Is that right? Does this mean that every customer sending money needs to setup a MB account and upload funds?
Thanks. They look good for sites which don't have a delivery method, I've got this built so I really just need the payment method. The %'s also look high on these.
I am using Plimus.com personally and since I am dealing with some corporate clients, they seems to be happy with this option. Of course they cost more but their service is worth the money. I am currently only paying between 8% to 15% in fees per transaction.
I've had 600$ of chargebacks the last week,it's really hard to run a hosting company when paypal doesn't care about the evidence you provide. I've been accepting e-gold,moneybookers and epaspporte and they are way better than paypal!
I may just bite the bullet and go the merchant route. I've worked with MetaCharge before and they have a good fraud guard system, so I'll see what they can do for me.
Yeah, not me! It seems though that there are a number of payment providers offering it. Apart from the various ones listed here, Barclays in the UK seem to offer it.
I think the idea is that they simply don't let through transactions which would be generally suspect to chargebacks and hence it doesn't get as far as the chargeback stage. I worked for an online dating site who had about 8000 transactions per month running through MetaCharge and only about 20 chargebacks per month. This was due to the Fraud Scoring system on MC and high risk transactions not being billed.
Moneybookers - just had my account closed because of low activity. Is it my fault if people prefer to use other payment methods, over moneybookers to pay me!
