Many people on this forum only wish they could earn $4 a day, so don't despair. What I would do in your case is fix the sites up a little. Some of them look rather unprofessional and could really benefit from some improvements.
PR is plainly for selling links. When Google decided to penalize webmasters selling their links, there's nothing left for webmasters to do. I guess you really have to promote and market your site more by link building and PPC.
Thanks so much for your expert tips. I really appreciate it. I have bookmarked your site. Will come back to see the video again. Thanks again.
I'v just bought a domain, paid for a web designer and paid for a web coder to make me a site like that now just read from you that it isn't very profitable for you... And i'v spent a few hundred $ of my own money on it, lol
Yes, I agree bogart, Now if he just repeats that by 100 he is making $400 a day I wish it was that easy , dont you..... But op yea, there is some good answers for you in this thread
I would advise against making too many sites. How could you actually update them all? If you dont update them visitors will not come back.
$4 a day will turn into $40, then $400. Hang in there. Keep building sites, that is what I do. Use several advertisers and find the ones that work best for each type of site. And remember, like seasons, the internet goes through cycles, some nice, some not so nice.
I say forget Google and build your own traffic with a custom web browser. That way, the web browser does all the work (build brand, create word of mouth, generates ad revenue), without all that tedious link building and SEO (which gets old real quick). If you want, I'll build one for you. BigBadBrowser.com
Your niche depends on your earnings also. Btw adsense is just a 2nd income. I don't think you should make it your #1 income. LOL
I sell software downloads too.... not affiliate program but software that I paid a programmer to help me code. So far, sales are not impressive but constant. I reckon it may be because the market that i have targeted to is too niche. ... I sell new age tools...
I have the same problem staring at me. I hardly make 2$ a day despite great efforts taken from my 15 months old site Hope I have to diversify the business
I was stuck there too, until I started thinking out of Google Lava Lamp (box). Make sure you categorize each ad space, check the stats after a while, and then get rid of the losers. Look at different affiliate programs. Not for the same old banner spot, but for something that fits just perfect into your site. Use multiple affiliates in multiple spots. Sell ad space yourself with your own unique idea. It seems to me, the farther I get away from using Google Adsense the more money I make. I still use it though...got to fill in the blanks.
You know, I just posted, and I was reading more. Mindcow....duhhhh. You bought some banner ad space on my site apopularitycontest.com. I was just looking at your site again, and man you need some back links. I think you have more backlinks just from APC. I can help you out if you need some more. I was also peeking at your source. How the heck are you generating your keywords? They seem like they don't match content when clicking stories. I don't think Google likes that, could be wrong. Here is some advice that might help you. Write a site plan. It's like a business plan, but it's for your website. Specifically analyze everything that is being done on your site, and why you are doing it. Don't advertise just because you think you should advertise, unless you want to buy ad space on my site. Know exactly why you are advertising, who you are trying to advertise too, and what it is you want them to do. Oh, and that landing page better match exactly to what the clicker (visitor) would expect when clicking on your ad. Your site is similar to mine in thinking I believe. Here is my plan in a simplified view. When I first started my polling site, people started creating polls, and people started voting. They started voting a lot, and I thought it was cool. I gave away prizes for those who voted most, they voted more, I advertised for more voters, they kept voting! I was throwing money away like I was paying people to vote or something! Oh, yeah, I was. Then I woke up after I finished my site plan. I came to the realization that mass voting wasn't making me money. The regulars just pounded page after page trying to win a prize. New uniques made money though. Unique visitors were/are finding the site two ways. One method is that members are putting polls on their own sites or blogs, and their visitors are voting bringing them to my site. The other key method is that search engines are indexing all of those polls that my members are creating, thousands of them. So now search engines are sending thousands of visitors to those polls. Now I have lot's of targeted visitors hitting my polls, so I sell targeted advertising. So what does my site plan say? Don't advertise for voters, but advertise to get new members that create new polls, and I will get more visitors. I have basic, reasonable goals, and things just keep pointing up. My site plan is over 10 pages, and I work on it all of the time. I think I spend more time thinking about what to do than working on the site. The thing is though, when I started it, that is when the money started to increase. Remember, a bunch of great ideas doesn't mean crap unless it has a...PLAN. Stop thinking about your site as someone with a good idea, and a great site. Start thinking about it as if a banker was listening to your pitch, and he looks like he won't give you $50.
