I haven't read anything about an update but I noticed I have several of my seach terms back in the top 10 today. Anyone else seeing similar?
I noticed some changes today.... I only have two sites that had SERP changes... and we own a few. Yahoo brings us decent traffic but for one of my main sites I get no traffic at all. It's hard to understand why Google gives the site the most traffic then MSN.
Everytime a search term in Yahoo seems to move back a page or 2 it has been because of their tracking URL. One search term is #1 but shows #23, because the one at #1 has the yahoo tracking URL and the one at #23 doesn't. It seems to last about 2 weeks everytime and then they remove their tracking URL and then it shows normal in the keyword tracker again.
Took a closer look and see some movement in .com but not .uk. Hopefully still to come, I am expecting several sites to do well in yahoo.co.uk
I only rank for my domain name in yahoo. Its a good start. My logo designer used to be #1 for my domain name. Got tired of yahoo referrals coming thru his site
On the 15th December Yahoo placed a lot of my important terms on the first page, they all came from nowhere, today the 28th January those same terms all dropped by at least 2 or 3 pages. To compensate Yahoo pulled a term from another of my sites from nowhere to #2...out of 223 million results...problem is this one doesn't make any money for me . I put all this down to the COOP...the first site lost about half the weight I was pointing to it.....the second site had a sudden increase of weight a few days ago. I will be pointing that weight back to the first site.
Cyclops, I have experienced exactly the same situation. Three of my keywords were placed at #1 in December but have now fallen to #7, #28, and #29 respectively. Instead, Yahoo has decided to display spammy, irrelevant sites in the top positions. At least MSN has decided the three keywords are worthy of the #1 spot ... I'm hoping that this is still a temporary glitch. ALL of the sites that were in the top five spots for 'London Escort Agency' for example, have been demoted. I'm now sitting at #7.
