The new feature you've added marking how old the threads are in the 'New Posts' search is an inspiration! Brilliant idea and not too intrusive. :)

And now that EVERYONE has discussed this, I think it's BRILLIANT! It makes life so much easier. I don't really know the issue with "thread bumping" unless it is JUST so that a user can post, but when the thread is something like "AdSense has a new feature" and I go in, only to find it was started 2 years ago really bugs me.

Thanks for the thread age. It's cool.

Actually, it applies to anywhere that the "threadbit" template is used. For example in the normal forumdisplay list of threads.

Whats so hard about checking the date from within the thread? I mean, your reading the opening post anyways so why cant you just move your eyes an inch and see how old the thread is before you reply to it?

Its not rocket science. If the thread is on the main page then most likely a reply isnt bad. If you found the thread via search the a simple glance at the date before you decide to reply is not that hard.

    I hate change! :)

It is kinda annoying though having that pale text. It doesnt really help since most people could care less if the thread is a day old or not.

I hate it but whats new. I seem to hate any newly added text. Its probably just a sign I spend too much time here as I nearly know how old every thread is

If you decide to put in a checkbox to disable it, that would be great.

Otherwise like every other feature similar to this I will probably just get used to it (Like the way the "New Posts" changed a couple of months ago - I don't even remember what it used to be like)

The new trader system is great of course.

PS. One of these times you have to roll out a feature in the middle of the night so the Europeans can feel involved. I feel like I haven't signed on in a week with so many changes :D

ha ha... I know what you mean... bet you can also see a new thread with some question or article that you know has been posted before and be able to find it in a few seconds

Shut up bastards! I am the all powerful Oz! I rule this land with an iron fist! You are going to take the new stuff and you are going to (pretend) to like it. Otherwise the Lollipop Guild will beat you down.

Reluctantly, I know you are right and I am going to end up liking it...It always happens that way.

As I always say, as long as we don't get useless crap like Karate Belts and Shoutbox's, bring it on

You can use AIM, MSN or anything else. Actually has more features than you could put into an AJAX system anyway... :)

I read the whole thread but I only saw a mention of not displaying when it is 0 days.

Is there any case where it matters if the thread is 1 day old or 5 days? Is it possible to bump up the threshold?

And I would say, if You're going to see the "age", why not just see it. Otherwise you've really got a mismatched/misaligned page. Some lines with, some without. I would say keep it uniform.

Can you tell I really wanted this feature?
