I'm a novice to WHM and servers but had have my own dedicated server for a couple of years now. Whilst checking out WHM I saw on: Main >> IP Functions >> Show IP Address Usage That all my websites are contained in one IP address only (http usage and mail usage), whilst the other IP's are completely empty! Is that supposed to be right? All my sites are functioning ok though, but wondering if I need to change it?
Yes this ok It just means all your sites are on one main shared IP. As you add sites or your clients add sites.. They may require SSL certs, these SSL certs require the domain is on an individual IP. Reseller accounts require there own shared IP, and individual IP's for private nameservers.
Since I have a dedicated host, is it worth transferring sites to their own IP (This is done by adding a Zone?). Thanks
It doesn't make any difference in site loading or server performance if you assign the dedicated IP addresses to each site. But keep in mind that whenever you change your site IP address, your site will be temporary unavailable as the IP address of the site will be changed. Kailash
