is this actually generating actual unique visitors/pageviews? or is it just bots? do you actually see an increase in clicks?
For my site I got around 50 new users signed up. I also debuted pretty low on the front page, because I wasn't on the front page until over 24 hours after originally posted.
Well I guess the cats out of the bag so I might as well admit that YES!!! this does bring in a lot of traffic (good traffic too). Example: www.geekbb.com was a dead forum 2 days ago with old posts, (less than 600) and 80 members. Now it has over 1000 posts with active members and gained about 70 members in 2 days. NOTE: you actually have to have good site content to make them stick of course. I just welcomed everyone and encouraged them to post. That being said please shout mine some more (there's only 3): http://www.shoutwire.com/profile/georgeB/submitted I'm going back through to shout everyone elses since my last post in this thread so please return the favor.
I was going to submit a story to Shoutwire, but it didn't let me. The webmaster at Shoutwire is a little insecure.
Just a guess, I believe they didnt want people inserting Digg urls just to get people to digg their stories at Digg. And maybe not allowing the word "digg" is a side effect of this. *shrug*
I got feedback from shoutcast saying they'll consider my ideas for new news topics to list under. So that's cool.
