Storys like this deserve to get shouted. The first part may have been a copy and paste job, but the writer actually took the time out to throw a decent opinion in and write the last two paragraphs himself. Not to mention that it is a story about breasts, which hold a special place in my heart. My only gripe with this story is you didnt show a pic of the breasts in question. This is a good topic, but not so much information here. Im gonna give you another chance. Make it at least 4 paragraphs and Ill make sure personally that it doesn't get taken down. I'm a reasonable man. Work with me and I'll work with you. Maybe by working together we can both get what we want.
funny i got red rep from suggesting that the people whom own shoutwire are just using it to push their own articles...i wonder who could have given me that. but on a serious note. stop being nazis shoutwire... why delete posts anyways, i nthe long run if its crap it wont go anywhere, if its not crap the people will shout it. some of the crap thats hits front page is seriously garbage.
Someone put a bug in my ear that a similar site that has already been in the works for months will be relaunching soon and not only allows webmasters to invite people to vote for their article, but encourages it ... what a concept. Anyone else heard this rumor? I'll keep you posted as I hear more.
SVZ - do you have a site name or more info? It sounds like the one you're talking about is in a "test" phase I'm guessing? The one I'm talking about is an old site that's been revamped specifically for this concept, but maybe they're one in the same ... I don't have a lot to go on right now honestly, but as I understand, it's a website promotion domain / site that is being redesigned specifically as a result of this thread. As I find out more I'll certainly be sharing the information. I think I'll be able to tell everyone the exact site and info within a day or so .... stay tuned.
I can't believe the email I got today from the folks at shoutwire.. I posted an article about detailing on their site. I realized they don't like forum posts (My article was posted in MY forum) so they deleted the article.. I went to the trouble of making a seperate, non forum, page for the article and resubmitted it. The article was removed and my account was deleted... I emailed them asking why it was removed again and why my account was deleted.. below is the unprofessional and juvenile response I got. My email is first followed by their repsonse and my last farewell email. I can't believe they wrote what they did to me... I have never had a companies customer service represpentative reply to me in that tone and use that language. Shoutwire, you can count me out! My email: Their response: And my last (and final) reply: Unbelievable... My jaw just about dropped when I read their reply....
Yeah, if that's the way they treat people who use their site, they won't last long. I agree with those who feel that they should allow articles to stay on and let the users decide what gets promoted and what doesn't. With that said, I also think users should try to provide quality content and get them promoted naturally.
No, not with everyone's digg profile in here ... that's just asking for trouble Added: actually, I'd do it, but some of the people in this thread might have a problem with it
xxoozero - I got bored of reading the whole thread, but I did see a couple of your nasty comments and apologies. Shoutwire is a good idea and a good resource. When I first posted something on shoutwire your content rate was dead. Articles stayed on the homepage for 3 days with only a couple of shouts. I could have got an article shouted, just by asking a couple of people. This thread alone generated alot of the content you had in the early days. I saw it. Yeah, some of it is absolute rubbish and purely there to get traffic. But as you get busier and more people get involved the impact that a few webmasters spamming your site will have, I think you should leave it to grow organically and only delete the stuff you must. Spam content will get harder and harder to rank as the number of shouts/ competition increases. If you want it to work as a community then leaving it well alone (in moderation terms) will make it grow much quicker (just look at dp). Focus on the features and functionality instead. The cream, will rise anyway and you guys wont alientate all those than can promote you. Just my 2 cents Edit* Imagine if all those guys you insulted decided to start a spam shoutwire contest. - That would just make things worse for you and give you less time to develop the site.
I think it's just a bunch of kids over there. And there's a group of them shouting each other's articles. (Wasn't xxoozero upset about that same thing going on because of this thread? ) How else do you explain the popularity of newsworthy literary works like... "Asshair - Shave it or not"
For those who haven't seen the other thread: here is an example for shoutwire's professionalism and "fair and balanced approach" on news. http://www.shoutwire.com/comments/4382/African_American_Rapist_Rapes_Again I'm not quite sure where Shoutwire can be justified for calling names and then being openly racist. Who runs the site and how much experience does he/she have when it comes to running a business?
xxoozero looks like you may want to get your own house in order. Whos gonna write a shoutwire article about that to shout then ?
