Hello, I am currently coding a shoutbox hosting script, and I was wondering what people think of one of the pre-set styles for the shoutbox. http://papaface.com/shoutbox/myshout.php?id=605e67b5353eba817ce7630385fd4f60&&style=1 this is the style which is a preset. If you remove the &&style=1 from the url you will see the customised version of the shoutbox (im still coding it so please dont comment on its appearence.). Are there any suggestions on how to make the shoutbox (pre-set) better? Test the pre-set in any way you like, its a test shoutbox. Thanks
Its designed to be put into your existing website via an iframe, so to make it fit easily I have made it as small as possible. See an example of it in an iframe here http://papaface.com/shoutbox/testing/test.html
Works now The shoutbox looks really nice! (I'm liking the smilies, very nice graphic design). The overall look of the shoutbox is really clean (web 2.0-ish) and would work well with any website color scheme
Thanks for your comments. @commandos I can read it perfectly fine.... Also everyone else ive spoken to can. People will be able to customise the way they want it to look via the custom template http://papaface.com/shoutbox/myshout.php?id=605e67b5353eba817ce7630385fd4f60 but I havent perfected the way that looks yet.
Do you mean the height of the iframe at http://papaface.com/shoutbox/testing/test.html, or the height of the part where the shouts are shown? Also the amount of shouts displayed, can be changed by the shoutbox owner, by adding &&show=20 to the end of the URL. e.g http://papaface.com/shoutbox/myshout.php?id=605e67b5353eba817ce7630385fd4f60&&style=1&&show=20 would show 20 shouts per page.
The iframe I would resize it until there are no more scroll bars on the horizonal or verticle side of the frame For making the height longer, I meant where the shout messages are located
The end user can do what they like with it, so they would have the ability to change that iframe as they like. I will look into it
Perfect! You should post the URL when the shoutbox is placed in your site so we can see how good it looks
I dont plan on putting it on my site, its a shoutbox hosting script - people signup to make a shoutbox
Oh I see. Well in that case, the design is perfect since it can work with any design (like I stated before). Good luck with this project!
I would rather keep the fonts as they are, this is supposed to be a mini-shoutbox, so im not really wanting to make anything bigger. Also a lot of people are saying a long the lines of am I missing something? This shoutbox hosting script idea is nothing new. Maybe im missing something?
