Shoutbox On My site is Good or not?

I have recently put a shoutbox on my website on this page

I just put it there to make some interaction with the visitors of my website. But is it good idea of having a shoutbox on a website or not? Is it looking cheap?

Please give me your feedback on this. Should I keep this or not?

Yes, I check it regularly. Even when I start my work in office I just keep that page open and check for new messages after every 10-15 minutes.

I think I can't change the colors because those are default.

Can you friends please come to my website and leave your messages - just for fun

I don't think the "please do not spam" will help that much against spam . I would say keep it for a while and remove it if people start spamming it..

keep it as some interactive for site is good. you can consider remove it if got more spam than you can manage or you got other more interesting feature for visitors to do.

 

I suggest you keep it, I for one love to leave messages whenever I browse through sites or blogs. It's one method to keep visits longer.

 

i removed it from my site because the users where asking stuff and not making threads.... now they make more threads

 

i think its a reaaaly good idea, i have put it on my site (in the homepage) and it makes it seem more lively and alive, although sometimes, some people can be really rude!!!! but its cool

 

I know that msg will not really be helpful but something is better than nothing and Yes I will keep it and when start getting spams I will remove it.

Yes, if people will start talking there then it will bring more visitors back to my site. Thats the main reason of putting shoutbox there.

I can't change the style there

I will try to add more and more features there, The problem is that I am not a web programmer so I have to look some free features available on the net.
