I just added shout box on my site to interact with the visitors coming to my site. This way they can leave messages and talk to the site owner and/or other visitors. Anybody has tried this thing on his site and got any improvement? I have put that shoutbox on my site here if you like to check it.
Shoutboxes or mini chatrooms are good for your website. It greatly helps interaction in between visitors. If you're site gains popularity then your website gets more community involvement and then gains web visibility over time. However this can only be applied to websites that are of general interest. You would rarely see a website about baby wipes and having a chat box to discuss "baby wipes topics".
My site is about mobile sms collection and it gets 2000+ visitors daily mainly from India (Indians love to chat) and I hope they will start chatting on my site too
