Suggestion Shout Box - Pay for a message

I have, in my opinion, a brilliant idea which I just came up with a few minutes ago. This idea could make a bunch of money to the people behind Digital Point.
It's all very basic and it could become very popular.

At the top of the forum there could be sort of a shout box where people could say whatever they want as long as they don't break a rule. A message in the shout box would cost you like 1$. This could be a fun way for people to reach out to other people. Maybe you want to tell someone that you love him/her or perhaps you want to promote your website or simply just state that you love Digital Point.

I was thinking of this:
* A message with a maximum of 80 characters would cost 1$.
* A message with a maximum of 150 characters would cost 2$.
* A message with a maximum of 1000 characters would cost 5$.

I honestly believe a lot of people would pay for this and the administrator could earn a whole lot of money from this. What opinions do you have about this? Is there positive/negative things about this whole idea? I believe it's very positive because a message would be reviewed by a moderator and if it's not breaking a rule it should be allowed in the shout box. If the message is against a rule it should not be posted in the shout box and the money should be sent back. I can't see anything negative about this.

Probably not. Since you pay for a message people wont just throw away money just to spam. And we must not forget that all the messages will be reviewed so spam wont be possible.

 

I think it might be a brilliant idea. It will bring the forum money and people will advertise their affiliate links. On the other hand there might be the possibility of spam but then again maybe only special groups of members will be given the possibility to buy credits to shout using the shoutbox.

I agree. All I can see were spammy messages on most shoutboxes in other forums.

I can't see why there would be spam. You would pay for a message and is it really worth wasting your money to spam? All the messages would be reviewed so spam wouldn't be possible. And also the point of having a shout box is to make this forum some extra money. If I would run a forum like this I guess I wouldn't have any problem with this. At least I would test it out.
