I'm looking for a good domain for a green living, natural, organic, eco-friendly blog I'd like to start up. the domain "naturallygreen.com" is for sale...It would take 3k to acquire it though. I'm new to domains so what do you guys think? Thanks!
Do you think you can recoup the investment? How to you plan on earning revenue? I would think there are much cheaper domains out there that would be just as suitable and probably some that are available to be registered. blogginggreen.com and gonegreenblog.com is available....and can be just as effective.
That's too much .. Adding a "-" ente the two keywords like naturally-green.com will simply make it worth 10$ and not 3K ...
forget generic domains, go for a unique brand name! think branding, branding, branding. Not only will it save you money on the domain but it will also have long lasting positive effects if your site makes it big.
3k for a domain name is to expensive. you have to doing keyword research more cheap methode and targeted for monetize it.
Spending too much on a domain name is just not advisable... particularly when equally good names are easily available, as listed by a member! 'blogginggreen' appears best to suit your needs... I guess! Regards, RightMan
what do you guys think of the name organicsoul.com I can buy it for 2k or lease it for $40/month? Any opinions on leasing a domain?
dude find a domain that you like that is undeveloped and unregistered. Neither domain you have mentioned are worth anything above reg fee. Some one is trying to rip you off
Although its a really nice domain I wouldn't pay that much for a blog domain. Blogs rely more on search engine rankings rather than branding so the actual domain name is not as important as say a eCommerce site, where you invest in offline advertising. A rule I use is never pay more for a domain than 3-4 months expected revenue. Also, never lease a domain. Be patient you should be able to think of a name that isn't registered or is in the low $xx range. Cheers and good luck!
I'm not super concerned about spending the money and making it back. I'm looking for something that is brand-able and can grow into something very large in the future. OrganicSoul.com seems like something that could be very brandable.
go to freekeywords.wordtracker.com and notice there is only 2 monthly searches for "organic soul" but there is 9 more searches for "organic soul band" then go to keywordspy.com and notice by putting in the term "organic soul" under the related tabs you will see a bunch of music artists you may want to keep that in mind for trying to brand this over priced prospect site of yours for the going green stuff since the term is already not related personally I think your domain naturallygreen.com would be a great related brand
I think your domain name is a good pick. The 3K is a little high but I think it would be worth it. After you acquire it, then you only pay the yearly renewal price for the .com domain name. The domain name has 2 keywords in it making it a good marketable keyword. If you have the 3K to invest, then I would acquire it. If not, then see if the .net is available or put a "-" in the domain name like mentioned earlier. A domain name is only as good as its marketing and website it is attached to.
That's a pretty good name but I"m sure you can talk them down from 3K. Infact, w/o sounding too spammy, I'll sell you my name... GreenMotives.com , for considerably less. What motivates you to stay green?
I'm still more attracted to organicsoul.com for the spirituality aspect of it. What do you'll think? Also whats wrong with leasing a domain?
$3,000 is too high. Maybe $300-600 if you have an iron-clad plan to monetize it. Even then, I'd want to see traffic stats and gain a strong sense of where CPCs are for keywords.
