Yes. The trick however is placing the ads sparingly and intermixing them with your other advertising streams, paid adds, etc.

Feel free to look at my directories KingBloom.Com and SeekWonder.Com both of which have a mix of paid outside advertising and PPC via adsense.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Actually it does. Proper placement and decent traffic = consistent revenue generation. Are you going to get stinking rich? No. But it can and does perform quite well. At least it does for me.

i think dont try it on paid once because when clients will visit u r site they l think it is a directory dependent upon adsense or something like that so it l add negative impact on u r dir...

Better double check, but I think that's against Google's TOS.

and it looks silly by all means .... as in my previous post,....

    1. if im submitting my sites to directories, my mind is built up to finish my work, and get on to another,... i will hardly even read to what the ad says...

    2. If im submitting my sites to directories, i fill up a few boxes, copy/ paste and then even if i find an add thats interesting,.... whats my choices, lose what all i copy/ pasted just to click on the ad.... i dont think so...

ads on submission pages are just a waste of time, and look ugly, and make the submission page one long ass submission page....

In the end again, its not what you do its how you do it,.... i could slap on huge square boxes on top of content, and make my directory look ugly, or ruin my site design,... or i could use the smaller ad formats and blend them wiith the design, ... so as not to confuse users or force them to click on it....

i have adsense on my dir ,.... and in the end i make more than a good $ a day from it...

    Regards,
    M.
BTW [off-topic]: do enter the contest im running, loads of goodies to be won!!!
