This guy came to NY a years ago with a travel visa. He stay and work in NY illegally since then. Never paid tax. Then he got into a car accident because he jaywalk. He got surgery in a hospital and didn't paid. He claimed that he has only 100 bucks now Now he is trying to get 50K with the No Fault insurance against the driver. He is stupid enough to leave his address so the nice people can help him out. so how can i report illegal immigrant? I really want to help
Of course he should be helped. He is a human who broke his leg and needed treatment. Give him the damn treatment and feel glad that you could have helped.
Yeap same opinion here, just that on the humane side at least treat him until his legs recover (using the compensation he got). Then deport him and at least pay him back whatever is left of that compensation.
So what do you propose? people who break petty laws like walking in the road are punished by denying them medical assistance? if you want him taken to court for failure to pay a debt and walking in the street, Fine. But that is unrelated to him receiving medical assistance and compensation if he is entitled to it. You know as well as i do this thread has little to do with someone not paying a bill or walking in the road and is very much about a foreigner not paying a bill and walking in the road.
Not at all, he is breaking the law 'it is not petty' Further more he should PAY his bill, not be allowed to break a law, get medical treatment while breaking the law, then on top of that not pay for his medical help and then get paid for it on top of that. Who gets to pay for his medical help instead? Me and every other tax payer here. Why on earth should he be allowed to break our laws and not something 'petty' get treated, and get rewarded Yes he should get treated medically and then his ass deported, simple as that, any 'compensation' should go to paying his bill.
He isn't getting rewarded for breaking the law. he is simply not being denied treatment as punishment and is putting in a claim for compensation. If he isn't entitled to compensation, He wont get it. Simple as that.
So you think he should not have to pay his bills? Glad to know me and my family have to pay for such instances, but someone breaking the law should not have to, and on top of that can get rewarded/compensation to boot.
I think a societies responsibility to help someone who needs help is more important than his responsibility to pay bills. As for the compensation. I will say it again. He will get it if he is entitled to it. If he isn't, He wont.
I can not believe this, society should help him and he should get a big cash reward. Great thinking there. --- BTW you keep bringing up if he's entitled to compensation. All the while not even talking about if he's entitled to pay his bill, or if he's entitled to get his ass thrown out of the country.
He should get compensation if he is entitled to it. It's not up to me to decide if he is entitled to it, It will be dependent on the circumstances of the accident, Not on the circumstances of his immigration status or his ability to pay a medical bill.
Yet you will not say if he should pay his medical bill One would think if someone owes money, and one gets money that money should go for paying the bill. That is the POINT of the insurance system over here in most cases to pay for your damn medical bills. Immigration status, breaking the law, yeah that should not be taken into consideration at all Had he not been 'breaking the law' the accident would not have happened in the first place.
this wouldn't have happened to him if he wasn't in the country illegally plain and simple. someones gotta pay for his medical bills and its not gonna be me.
Him paying his bills, being an illegal immigrant and Claiming compensation are entirely unrelated. Should he pay bills? Yeah, Ideally. Should he get help even if he can't pay for it? Of course he should. Should he receive compensation if he is entitled to it? Of course. Should the fact that he is an illegal or that he was walking in the road effect any of the above? No, It shouldn't.
Should he be rewarded compensation without paying his bills from it. NO. Pretty simple really, the compensation is there to pay for his bills 'not simply' ideally
yes it should. hes in this country illegally. Why don't you go driving tonight and some illegal alien run across the street and you hit him and you pay 50,000$ to him and your in debt for 20 years. I am sure you would be real happy then. I love you kind of people, your like christians who don't go to church. So fast to spread your love and cheer but when someone steps on your tail your the guys who act the worst.
If a court decides i hit them as a result of my negligence then i would be liable to pay compensation. I wouldn't be "happy" about it. But id certainly be happy about not living in a country where your entitlement to justice is based on your nationality. What the hell are you talking about?
