For the past 4 years I have been building adsense sites on and off. I currently have roughly 20 adsene sites, with approximately 15 pages per site. If I were to guess, about 1% of them are probably ranking in Google. I've been doing mostly article, forum and blog marketing to get them ranked. I've recently stubmled on a new strategy that has me really excited. In my reserach I've often noticed that domains with the keywords in them tend to get ranked very easily for long tail keywords. This wouldn't work if you were trying to get ranked for "guitar" but for "guitar lessons in chicago," often having those keywords alone is virtually guaranteed to get you ranked. It just depends on how competitive a keyword is. Many times domains with the keyword in them only need 5-10 links to get ranked, as opposed to needing 100s if the keyword isn't in them. Therefore, I'm now embarking on a new strategy. I'm going to identify an uncompetitve longtail keyword, buy a domain with those keywords in it, and build just one page of quality unique content (keyword: QUALITY) and promoting that until it gets ranked. I've heard of others using this very effectively. It seems to me that this is far more effective than buying a generic domain name and putting 15-20 pages on it, most of which won't get ranked. This strategy is far more targeted, and if you do your keyword research correctly, you are almost guaranteed to get ranked for many long tail terms. Is anybody out there using this strategy effectively? Any thoughts?
I've been doing it for years, as have many others. Good luck to you. I'm just over 50 sites right now.
wooow people are doing very well in websites race .We hardly have 10 and they really hard to manage .GOOD LUCK LADS.
Wow, 50 sites is impressive. How much does each site average, if you don't mind me asking? If you don't want to answer that, how long does it generally take for them to get ranked? The more I hear about this strategy the more pumped I get! Thanks a lot for your help!
Having a million worthless sites are not as good as having 1 good site. I think that this is where the main problem lies with people who want to make money with adsense. They think that a bunch of crappy sites are better so they keep making them sites. You should take a site that is making the most and build it into something better and push all of your seo skills towards that one particuler site. And yes, obviously longer tail keywords are much more easy to rank considering that they have less competitors. Here, I'll answer that for him. each make around $1 a month.
Yeah I've done 25 sites and realized I wasn't doing good and it almost seemed pointless. I then took my favorite and highest ranked site and ditched all the rest and just kept the domain names and focused everything on that one site day after day. Now that site makes more money than I could have ever imagined.
I think the strategy you have described would be successful, provided the keyword is something in which real people have real interest. As for your question of the number of sites, I think as long as you can handle the load and keep everything straight, there is no such thing as too many sites.
I have a few sites earning $50+/year. Some of my larger (and non niche sites earn this monthly) (I have found some great domain names that are bringing in loads of traffic). I am also seeing high rankings in Google images. Other sites are earning the $1 a month, but I am still profiting from those too. It's all win-win! Best of luck to you. My advice: Find some tools, mix the tools, and you'll succeed. I've been in the industry since 2003, when I was thirteen, and my key to success is just mixing everything I know together. Here's a thought for you to ponder, something to hopefully help you succeed: Everyone says be creative online. Well creativity doesn't exist. How did I get here? Imagine something random, anything, something truly original.... Wait before contiuing.. Have you thought of something truly original?.. If so continue.. Now, think of the components that make that truly original unique thing. These components already exist and are not original. Thus, the key to succeeding is to "mix and match" things you know. Don't try to be completely unique. Use what you know. This quote has inspired me for the last year on my quest to make sites: Start where you are, use what you've got, and get where you can. The method i'm using i've developed myself over the last 7 years. Start reading my friend - there is a lot of information available on these forums and other forums. Goodluck! To each his own. Owning a network of sites is more valuable than owning one site. Why have all of your eggs in one basket? Also, a network is more valuable for SEO purposes. As long as everything in your network is quality then you are golden. I have my large sites, I have a 800,000 post forum, but I really really value the network of minisites that i've established over the last year. @Josh - I'm normally ranked in Google within a week of registering each domain. I can get quick cheap content, so there really is no "thinking" involved. Speeds up the process a ton.
it's easy to earn $100 with 100 sites that earn $100 from 1 site..actually I have 30 sites right now and I can earn $3/day from adsense
its possible, having many sites with adsense would work better but you need to work on those sites as well.
Yes, but more so in the Yahoo search engine. Google use to be great with exact match domains - but it is less of an influence since May.
Few months before I made a website for one of my friend and used his targeted key word in his domain. After doing a little SEO, today he is on the first page of Google for that keyword.
Personally, The key is how well can you manage the current sites you have now. It's a balance between quantity and quality. IMO I'd create a couple quality sites and then really monetize and promote them, SEO them to get organic good traffic. Trying to expand my business while ensuring I can still manage, maintain it. If I find it overwhelming I'd sell a couple sites as I prefer to be able to focus on sites and expand them than having tens of sites I can't or don't have the time to optimize.
Well I prefer 1-2 sites for Max as too much sites are tough to handle and moreover you cant concentrate on one. if you work on a site as much you work on 100 sites . you can obviously get income more than you get in 100 sites.
The best strategy would be to start with a relatively small number of websites to find out what layouts get you the best CTR. Once you have this you can then build up the number - that way, rather than a lot of poorly performing sites, you get a lot of tried and tested websites that deliver good results.
Thanks everyone for your feedback. It's pretty obvoius there are differnet schools of thought on this. I may have not made it clear before, but these are NOT going to be worthless sites. True, each will only have one page, but it's going to be one page of great content. What's the difference beteween having 100 quality pages on different sites or 100 pages on the same site? Again, I'm not totally sold on this strategy. And I understand those who say 1 to 2 sites are best. But I'm going to experiment with this and see how it goes. I'll report back on my results after a month or so of doing this strategy, thanks again for everyone's feedback!
If you are doing the "amazing content" micro-niche minisite route then I suggest at least 5 pages of content. If you are showing adsense then you are required to have a Privacy Policy as well. I would also put a Contact form up on all the pages. I have a page about 'Victims Compensation' and I get some crazy emails, it's quite hilarious. So just for kicks I would put a contact page on all of your sites. Also, don't forget to put a few images on your site. I'm getting tons of traffic from Google images to my micro sites.
