They are not a small majority where i live, in fact you see them everywhere.

Nobody is confusing the two either, one covers the head the other is a full length black sheet or more like a bin liner.

Being oppressed is not a freedom nor is it a human right.

Wouldn't that be a more appropriate question in the "Older men for younger boys" Yahoo chatroom?

    What a hypocrite.

Don't dare to answer the question? Not only you give aid and comfort to terrorists and are a pro-terrorist and Anti-American but you are also a coward.

That's what happens in many Muslim countries.

By the way, do you mean murder included?

well if thts the case then gov in uae might announce that every women here should wear a burkha compulsary, no matter you are from which country, would any other women like such forced restrictions ?
its like u want to terminate those people out of your country, a step heading to that in future.

I forget to say that I don’t like to see people with body piercing (ears, lips, nostrils, eyebrows, belly buttons, tongues, cheeks, etc..). It must not be allowed by law. Why? Well because it doesn’t suit my taste, I just don’t like it!

Why do you say they are opressed? have you talked to these women and ask them why they are wearing it?

i am surprised that the answers were just around terrorism really, most of you have associated the burqa with it and you did not even ask yourselves why these women wear it in the first place.
Look at crime statistics in London, stabbings/rapes/muggins and all sorts who commit them women in burqa?????
In the states that guy who went on a killing rampage and likked these people? was he weraingthe burqua?
Is a woman oppressed because she coveres her body? so are you saying that a woman who goes out with very little on her is free? free of what? to be on display to all the men outside? is that freedom, yes the burqa may be tto much but everyday and now for the nice weather it's getting worse I see women wearing hipsters trousers, half a teeshirt and all sorts you name it.
They are things you keep to yourself and at home. No wonder the muslims think the europeans are decadent, they have no modesty no respect of themselves. I remember about 30 years ago a woman tv presenter was sacked from her job because her skirt was so short people could see her knees. Ok we do not live in the dark ages any more but it has gone worse, and the fashion industry is not helping. You must have seen the last fashion craze? these guys wearing their trousers below theirs pants? I mean how stupid does that look? I really pity them. Give it a few years and they will show their bum.

I disagree yes they expect you to respect their women who dress correctly and modestly and behave well but why should they respect "your women" who look like slut, drink and behave like depraved people???

excuse me but respect is something which has to be deserved.
Do you respect a killer or a padoephile?

Islamic law dictates that a women must cover herself, why hrm? i'll tell you the excuse i keep hearing from practicing Muslims that is; it protects her from rape, so wearing the burqa is not something the women actually wants but something that has been force feed to them, something they might think is their duty to wear.

Burqa's are designed to protect the women's "modesty" to "prevent rape" etc as we keep hearing & the responsibility for wearing the burqa firmly sits with the women as if it's her fault that Muslim guys are such horrible creatures that you have to cover everything to prevent being held down for sex, the guy's are the problem, yet a women must wear this rubbish?

A western women is free to wear what she likes not something dictated to her from books or by so-called men, that's true freedom. Since burqa's protect a women from rape, i would like to suggest a few things of my own to prevent rape, how about all Muslims guys just get blow up dolls or allow masturbation or maybe they should be forced or be expected to wear sunglasses everywhere to protect the womens modesty, punishable by death by stoning if not followed.

That's what your saying now, what would you be saying if it was forced upon you, let's say it's your duty as a good Muslim women to wear one?

I can help you, the simplest problems are often solved with the minimum of thought; go to Afghanistan;)

Muslims telling the europeans they are decadent, i've heard it all now, Islamic law anyone?:)

I personally don't respect women who have not respect for themselves, who wear what they are told to.

Don't get me started on the prophet(PBUH)
