Should We Trust PPC Advertising?

In many places I see ads for jobs like "paid to click". So basically some people are getting hired to click on ads with these jobs.

Now problem part is some people are paying for those clicks, which really does not convert at all. There are some measures to prevent huge loss of money, like not counting clicks if there are more then certain number of clicks on the same site from the same computer. But that would not really stop the whole scam.

Considering this scenario what can we do to maximize our ROI as an advertiser?

I think google and other ad networks refund that amount which you loose by click bombing and invalid clicks . In PPC i have very bad experience because of low budget and no experience . According to me PPC needs little time and money for experiments and than you can understand it clearly . I have seen many members on dp making good money by using PPC methods .

You have to be very vigilant in watching for PTC. I routinely log the web addresses and IP's of suspected PTC and send them to my Advertising Company. If they are a legitimate company they will remove these publishers from their network.

You can generally tell if it's PTC if there's a large amount of people on your site at one time (like 50+) and they're only looking at one page. As far as I'm concerned it is completely worthless traffic and is a scam.

PPC still has a lot of value in my mind, you just have to stay on top of it to ensure it's legitimate traffic (ie unincentized).

This is why I mostly only advertise on the search network instead of the content network. If I am going for the content network, then I just target which sites I want to advertise on.

i think PPC is still "new" compared to most things, it has gotten far within these last 5 years, i wonder what 5 more years will hold?

Can't say that I agree that PPC is dead. Plenty of people making good money out of it. Just look at the number of ads that Google runs. Sure not everyone will be profitable but those people don't hang around long. And PPC isn't for everyone - it takes a lot of work to find the winners and losers both in terms of campaigns and keywords. But the rewards are there if you're prepared to stick at it and work on the areas where you're falling down.

PTC sounds like it could be dead...

PPC is obviously the most efficient way, but PTC is not good at all. Of course it is cheaper.

Google and yahoo are taking big steps to avoid click fraud but we as a advertiser need to take
2-3% clicks as click wastage when designing any campaign.

Track everything and you should be ok. As for PPC being dead, i think you will find it is still HUGE and there is alot of money to be made.

My ratings for PPC I have tried
    Goclick
    Miva :(
    ABC Search
    7 Search :(

I know, I know I should give Adsense a try but the keywords I'm targeting are too competitive.

PPC is good for all when it is properly targeted and bought from a trusted network... But we cannot blame the networks as they are forced to take the measures to prevent Scams and F. clicks. ......

I'm in PPC industry for almost 2 years,
And I've also seen lot of my clients making huge money with it,
In fact I think PPC is the best way to get ROI,
But you have to work on it, it is not easy or something automated
Or else you can hire some good professionals for it.

And I do Agree there are fraud clicks , but pros and cons are there in every industry.

And PPC is the most measurable advtg. program
