Should we make Adsense like content of the page or not?

DP is a really good site and I became a webmaster from a pure software developer. People here are vey helpful and I really appreciate it.

This question might seem dumb to most people here, but....

I notice many people saying that webmasters should make the ad look similiar to the web content by using same or similiar background and font. I think it works for PPC programs but not adsense due to the smart-pricing system.

For example, assume there is a ad that visiters think it is your web content, and when visiters click that link, once they realize it is a ad they probably close the ad or go back to the previous page right away. The result could be lower conversion rate from adwords buyers and smart-pricing (people say it is 70% off regular income?) on the adsense account.

On the other hand, if visiters know it is an ad and they are really interested in knowing the ad detail, they click then it would increase the conversion rate for people who pay for the ad, and it may result in higher bid from them and no more smart-pricing?

In short, quality or quantity of the clicks? Any thought from senior webmasters?

I don't think Google or any webmaster is trying to trick visitors into clicking on ads and the reasoning behind blending ads into your content is to make them less obtrusive and more appealing to check out if the visitor is interested. They do have the "ads by Google" tag on them, after all. As to quantity or quality, obviously everybody wants both but the quality has to be there first. If you have irrelevant ads nobody will click on them. You can always work on quantity by making your site better, SEO, and managing your ads so they'll be more clickable to your visitors.

I always go for the quality click. The purpose of putting the ads inside the content is not to get the "accidentally click" from the visitor but to get the attention from the visitor.
