It appears the GOP is short of time on getting any extension on oil drilling offshore. Perhaps only extenting to a small area off Florida.

What do you think...do you think we should allow reasonable drilling offshore or do you think that it should be prohibited?

Note:It's suggested in America, that given our current policy, we have a domestic supply of 5-10 at most. Given those bans were lifted, we'd have anywhere from 10-15 more years upon the given. This doesn't account for oil that isn't yet economically viable e.g shale...we have shitloads of that.

Massive oil supplies lie under the Alaskan North Slope. Environmentalists have basically shut down the potential of ANWR, the "pristine" wilderness on Alaska's North Slope. Sad, because most of them have never been to the North Slope (I have), and it is for the most part a barren wilderness.

Durning world war II, we did quite a bit in Alaska. Ripping down paths to support or war infrastructure. Of coarse we didn't have anyone against that, because movements didn't exist as they do and it was needed.

I don't really see why a reasonable opening of drilling can't be done there.
